Scottish independence: Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon see 2014 poll blow as teenage voters overwhelmingly back Britain, the ‘Battle of Britain’ has started, youth vote moblise against SNP, genuine lack of talent of Nationalists is a real growing problem

Dear All

Support for Scottish independence has completely and totally collapsed, and to make the point of why that is the case, there is a real genuine lack of talent in the Scottish National Party.

The SNP is run as a one man band under Alex Salmond, and far from being clever, he is an opportunist, but when it comes to opportunity, that is one where his ‘jolly fat man’ routine and Nicola Sturgeon’s ‘concerned citizen’ is failing to make an impact.

One of the PR tricks that Salmond uses at events is to surround himself with young people; this is to imply that he is touch with the ‘yoof’ vote.

It is a thing commonly done in politics when an old failing star tries to hold onto past glories, but Alex Salmond’s time is ending.

And ending in failure!

The overwhelming majority of teenagers specially enfranchised for this independence referendum by SNP demands are set to vote No.

Awhile ago, I said on this blog that it would be a major mistake to include 16 and 17 year olds in the vote.

George Laird right again.

The first major survey by Edinburgh University is a significant blow to First Minister Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon.

Their indy campaign is sinking day by day, no vision, no ideas and lack of talent, their ‘front’, the Yes Scotland sideshow isn’t relevant to Scots.

It is full of Team Salmond and Team Sturgeon cronies, grassroots community campaign is how anyone objectively would describe I;: Yes Branches are effectively the SNP branches.

In the Edinburgh University study, data was collected that found 60% of 14 to 17-year-olds were opposed to independence.

Having looked at what passes for democracy in the SNP clique, the teenagers have looked at what is going on and said, No, just a measly 21% were in favour, while 19% were undecided.

If you add 60% and the 19% together, the scale of the problem is quite unique, it shows that Blair Jenkins and Yes Scotland have completely wasted their time.

The direction of travel isn’t towards them but in the other direction.

And the findings, paint more bad news for the SNP as it reveals teenagers were heavily engaged in the debate and highly likely to vote.
The idea of the SNP of ‘living in the days of a better nation’ has no traction; the mood of Scottish youngsters is they want to get involved in the ‘Battle of Britain’.

They are fighting the SNP to ensure that those opportunities currently enjoyed are not lost, those protections currently enjoyed are not lost, and they like majority of Scots don’t trust Salmond and Sturgeon.

No one is coming to help Salmond, not even his own SNP members.

In response to the devastating news, the Englishman and SNP's campaign director, Angus Robertson, said previous polls had indicated higher levels of support for independence among young people.

He added:

"The Edinburgh University survey shows that Scotland's students want more information about independence”.

I think they have already make their mind up, 60% at this stage are saying overwhelmingly and categorically No.

Robertson added:

"In the coming months the Scottish Government will continue to publish a series of papers covering the main arguments for independence, leading to a white paper in the autumn that will set out detailed proposals for an independent Scotland. We believe that by September 18, 2014, most people of all ages will agree with the positive case for an independent Scotland."

Some Campaign director, Robertson like Salmond and Sturgeon can’t change the growing tide of No, time for a quote?

From Alex Salmond:

“My problem is that I have too many talented people and not enough Cabinet positions”.

On Robertson, he isn’t Scottish, his work, if you can call looking at the Norwegian Navy website as part of his defence ‘review’ is a joke; the SNP MPs at Westminster haven’t done a good job. One of them Ms. Whiteford, a Salmond crony is still refusing to go back to the Scottish Committee that she left in the huff after making allegations.

She isn’t missed but they set a placer card out for her if she ever decides to do her job.

A spokesman for the pro-independence Yes Scotland campaign said:

"It's great to hear the views of these young people and Yes Scotland will be working very hard over the next 15 months to persuade them and others that Scotland's future should be in their hands, with a Yes in the referendum."

“It’s great news”?

Who the fuck is he kidding, is this, the ‘brave’ face, from the body with no heart? See what a mean about a genuine lack of talent!

The pro-UK Better Together campaign is doing well, in reality; they have a campaign which effectively has the Scottish people already onboard.

While the SNP had their ‘Declaration of Cineworld’ for the rich to bow at the feet of Alex Salmond and give their blessing, Better Together made their campaign about ordinary people.

Michaella Drummond, 17, a Better Together youth representative from Kirkcaldy, Fife, said:

"This poll may surprise a lot of people, but it doesn't surprise me. I know that the overwhelming majority of my friends and the majority of people my age that I speak to simply cannot see the sense in Scotland going it alone. I cannot comprehend nationalism. What the SNP is proposing seems out of touch with modern society."

If you ever get the opportunity to catch Ellie Koepplinger of Yes Scotland speak, you will see the difference, Ms. Koepplinger in a previous television programme sounded dense, and completely out of her depth on everything.

She isn’t an ordinary member of the public with no political affiliations; she is connected to the Scottish National Party via her father.

Scottish Labour's constitution spokeswoman Patricia Ferguson said:

"It is refreshing to see young people showing the confidence to say No, despite the assumptions made about them."

The question which should be asked by the SNP members is whose stupid idea was votes for 16 and 17 year olds?

Because you didn’t need to be a rocket scientist know that would backfire spectacularly.

George Laird right again.

In 2014, Alex Salmond and Nicola Sturgeon will clearly see that they don’t have a whole country in their corner.

471 days to the political death of Alex Salmond at the ballot box, you can watch the death clock counted by going here.

And in the interest of fairness, something which doesn't exist in an Alex Salmond, Nicola Sturgeon, and Peter Murrell controlled SNP, here is a link to Yes Scotland.

Yours sincerely

Alex Salmond is married to a woman old enough to be his mother.

Why would a young dynamic person want to be round him?
