Islam Channel on Sky Broadcasting censured by Ofgem as presenters condone martial rape and violence against women in live television programmes

Dear All

Broadcasting is a serious business from bloggers to BBC1; you have to keep the audience happy by making your product entertaining and hopefully informative.

On Sky there is a Muslim religious channel which I have never heard of, they have a different view on attracting an audience.

Advocate martial rape!

Their presenters are now in trouble with Ofgem over this.

This is not the first time that figures in the Muslim world have promoted rape of married woman by their husbands.

And in Afghanistan they even passed a law to allow men to force their wives to have sex against their will.

This makes a joke of the western powers being there to install democracy for the people!

Another gem looked at by Ofgem is the presenters calling women who wear perfume in mosques 'prostitutes'.

It seems the Muslim Channel will allow any backward individual onto its screens to promote crime.

Ofcom has since ruled the Islam Channel, which broadcasts on Sky, breached the broadcasting code in five programmes between May 2008 and October 2009.

If Islam promotes peace then how does that square with martial rape?

A phone-in show in May 2008 came in for censure as a female caller asked if she had the right to hit a violent husband back, she should have been told to call the Police as a victim of crime.

The ‘presenter’ stated:

“In Islam we have no right to hit the woman in a way that damages her eye or damages her tooth or damages her face or makes her ugly. Maximum what you can do, you can see the pen over here, in my hand, this kind of stick can be used just to make her feel that you are not happy with her.”

Incitement to violence is a crime and his arse should be in Court and not on the nation’s television screens.

In a submission to the report, the Islam Channel said it 'does not condone or encourage violence towards women under any circumstances' and 'does not condone or encourage marital rape'.

It just allows uneducated and backward presenters to do it.

If Sky Broadcasting has any sense they will in future monitor this Channel closely and if such behaviour is exhibited again then they should take them off the air.

Broadcasting allows people to be informed, educated and entertained; it can stimulate debate in areas which can be a benefit for all.

Those presenters involved in the programmes found to have breached the Ofgem regulations should be barred, particularly those inciting violence and rape.

In future the Islam Channel should tighten up the vetting of presenters and explain what is and not acceptable to comply with the law.

Yours sincerely

It seems there's a paradox here. The BBC condones and promoted 1.3 Million civilian deaths in Iraq. And goodness knows how many civilian deaths in the Opium breadbasket of Afghanistan.
